Woodborough’s Heritage

Woodborough, a Sherwood Forest Village, recorded in Domesday

1835 Cassini Publishing Ltd. O.S. Map first published between 1824 & 1840 (a small section thereof)

Maps and plans of Woodborough

Throughout this website we have used various published and unpublished maps and plans of Woodborough. This page attempts to show the development of the village from the earliest known map through to the latest O.S.

It is not possible to show the whole parish but instead we have opted to feature the full length of Main Street starting with its junction at the lower end of Bank Hill and Foxwood Lane at the west end, to the east with its junctions with Lowdham Lane and Shelt Hill.

The aim of this page is to show and compare graphically the development of the main part of Woodborough in terms of buildings along its Main Street.
